The demand for equal rights in every vocation of life is just and fair; but, after all, the most vital rights is the right to love and be loved. This video made me laugh so much. It shows how people use the most ridiculous arguments to justify discrimination.- Emma Goldman

Love After Love
I've been reading The Time's Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. Although it's a story about the love of two people that transcends time, it opens with a poem about learning to love yourself.
I spent so many years trying to make a relationship work. Now I realize I should have been learning more about myself and fulfilling those needs.
What does the poem mean to you?
Love After Love
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, who you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

9 to 5
I usually love my job. I am able to make my own hours and decide which days I go in to work. However, my co-worker is going on maternity leave soon and I'll be taking over her duties. That means I'll need to be in the office from 9am to 5pm. As I've mentioned before I am not keen on having a job where I'm required to be there from 9-5. In fact I am not a "morning person" at all. I enjoy a lovely nocturnal lifestyle.
I'm not sure how I'm going to pull this off for 2 months. Wish me luck!

Quitter?
Almost 2 weeks into my new lose x amount of pounds program and I'm failing....miserably. I started off like a champion. I went running every morning and with each day I improved. (This is a HUGE deal for me because I have never, NEVER been a physical person.) I stopped drinking soda and was eating food/snacks with nutritional value. So what happened? THE WEEKEND!
On Saturday I went to the movies. (I saw Star Trek. It was so good. For once I wasn't disappointed with Hollywood for ruining another classic. Now I'm curious to see what they've done with the Terminator.) This was my excuse to splurge. I didn't go running that morning and I filled up on greasy popcorn and the heavenly nectar called Pepsi. I then went to Walmart and bought even more Pepsi. The 2l bottles were .99c. How could I resist? So I basically spent the rest of the weekend drinking soda, not running and eating junk food. Yum!
Now it's Thursday and I've only ran twice this week. On the plus side I stopped drinking soda. I'm still enjoying cookies and Cracker Jacks though. I've probably gained more weight!
Well, I'm not giving up. As I munch these peanuts I am committing myself to running this evening...if it's not raining.

New Regimen
According to my Wii Fitness game I'm overweight. It's true. Some of my clothes are now fitting too snug for comfort. So, my goal is to slim down by July 25. My cousin is getting married in Bermuda and entire family is going. I have to look cute in a bikini.
My Plan
Run: at least 5 times a week
Wii Fit: everyday
Cut out soda: maybe 1 a week
Healthy eating
I'll try to keep you up to date on how I'm doing.
