Tempted to Touch

I first saw him at the rehearsal dinner. As you know, I'm in Bermuda for my cousin's wedding. My aunt was hosting the rehearsal dinner at her house and I was helping cook. I was hot and sweaty, and that was when we were introduced.

Let me give you a little background info. My aunt has been married to her husband for about 20 years and they have 2 sons together. My aunt has 2 sons from a previous marriage and her husband had one, I'm going to call him Firefighter. (Thanks E for giving me the ideas for nicknames) I have always known of his existence but we had never met and I have never paid much attention to him while looking at pictures. Both my Mom and younger sister had met him on their previous trips to Bermuda. I on the other hand was never interested in knowing about him...that is until I saw him. He is gorgeous.

I didn't really say anything to him that night. I just stayed back and observed. The next time I saw him was at the wedding. He looked amazing in his suit. The best part about him being in the wedding party was I was able to stare and take pictures without anyone thinking I was being a stalker. Ha ha. We spent time together at the reception but were always part of a group. After the wedding, my female friend V, my sister, my male cousin J and Firefighter decided we weren't ready to go home after the reception. Instead we headed to a club/bar that was inside the hotel. Usually, I'm extremely shy, but as you know once alcohol is added to any equation it allows you to lose your inhibitions and speak freely. I became a bit flirtatious. V was being flirty too, so I wasn't sure what he was thinking. That is until he pulled me towards him to dance.

Once again I wasn't ready for the night to end so I suggested going to the beach. We headed back to the house to change, took Firefighter to his house to get his swimsuit and went to the beach. The sky was clear and the moon was high and bright, reflecting beautifully on the water's surface. My sister and J sat on the shore and watched us as we splashed around. It was a lot of fun. When we were leaving Firefighter and I lagged behind a bit and he kissed me. It was perfect. When we got back to my aunt's house he and I sat outside and talked...okay, it was more than talking. But I didn't let things get to far. I told him we had both been drinking and weren't thinking clearly. I said we should wait until tomorrow to decide how we really felt about each other.

Because I am extremely shy I ignored him the next day. I felt arkward and unsure of what I was doing. The family all had breakfast together and then we went to the beach again. Firefighter took us all on a nature walk and I had to do my best to not stare at him. I kept sneaking glances while trying not to be too obvious. That night we had dinner at my aunt's house. When it was time for him to leave I caught his eye and smiled...trying to let him know that I felt the same way without saying anything. Now I have to figure out what I should do.

Going to the Chapel...

I forgot to mention that my family is actually in Bermuda for my cousin's wedding. My Mom's sister lived on the island and she has 4 sons. The oldest is already married. This was her second son's wedding. It was on Saturday and was beautiful. I seem to be using that word a lot here. I need to find a thesaurus and look up some synonyms...dazzling, stunning, gorgeous, wonderful. Ha ha.

The ceromony did make me realize how cynical my views about love have been. It made me sad to think that I didn't believe in true love and happily ever after. My cousin was in tears watching his bride walk down the aisle and so was I. As I listened to the priest speak about what love and marriage meant it suddenly hit me that I want those things. I want to find someone to share my life with, through the good and bad times. I just don't know if I will ever be able to let my guard down.

Bermuda

Bermuda is breathtakingly beautiful. You get a glimpse of its beauty when you flying into the island. Looking out the window I gasped to see towers of clouds. I should have taken a picture but I wasn't thinking because I was in such awe. I know. I sound like one of those cheesy tourist ads, but it really is gorgeous.

As soon as we dropped our bags off at my aunt's house we headed to the beach. The water is so clear you could see the sand below you. Everything is perfect. The sand, the surf, the air. I wish I could stay here forever.

Last Manic Monday before Bermuda

When and with whom was your first kiss?
I was a late bloomer and didn't have my first kiss until I was 18 with my ex-boyfriend, JLH.

Do you believe that everything happens for a reason?
Yes. Every experience teaches me new things not only about myself but about the world. I'm always growing and changing...I hope for the better.

What would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Welcome home. I'm proud of you. You did your best.

Why I Need to Lose Weight?

The sales clerk was nice enough to inform me that there was a maternity section.

Yeah.....kind of sucks. This is one of the main reasons I would like kids. When I'm pregnant I wouldn't have to worry about holding my tummy in. LOL!

Namaste

Remember my goal to lose weight. Well, I sort of became a bit of a slaker. I started off really strong. I was running everyday and eating healthy. Then the days between runs began to grow larger until I wasn't doing it anymore. Don't judge me...I mentioned before that I was unfortunatly suffering from the lazy gene. To make things worst my healthy diet began to consist of my one and only not to mention crippling addiction....Pepsi. I'm not sure exaclty what they put in it but it's soooooo... good.

I'm going to Bermuda at the end of the month and that will require wearing swimsuits. So I decided to jump back on the horse and try again. I've modified my eating habits once again. I've cut out soda. (Okay, I do occasionally drink a little Pepsi. I can't help it.) I drink gallons of water, which sucks because I'm constantly having to go to the bathroom (TMI?) Exercise is another problem. Running everyday wasn't working. Since I started working from 9-5 I would have to wake up around 6am and I do not possess that type of motivation. I can't go in the evenings because my running buddy works late and I don't want to go alone. So I decided to try something new.

I went to Bickram Yoga for the first time and LOVED it. For 90 minutes I stretched and twisted my body in a room that was heated to 105ºF. I have never sweat so much in my entire life. The system has no beginner, intermediary or advanced levels. Everyone just moves to there own pace and you can skip poses if you do not feel up to it.

At the end I had to stop and lay down because I felt like I was about to pass out. Some of the poses made my blood rush to my head which left me with a bit of a headache. I think that is something I have to get used to. However, my overall experience was wonderful. My body feel so refreshed and I felt ready for anything. I can't wait to go back.
